Rovio teases “the next epic Angry Birds game”
The teaser by Rovio hints at a new medieval-themed 'Angry Birds' game.
Rovio, the Finland-based game developer released a brief trailer of its next game. The brief teaser shows an angry bird covered in a medieval armor and also shows the unnamed game as “the next epic Angry Birds game.” The game will be launched in Canada and Australia first followed by New Zealand and other countries later on.
Rovio had unveiled its new flagship game ‘Angry Birds Stella: Best Friends Forever‘ last month. The Angry Birds Stella looks as if its aimed at young girls and shows a titular pink bird along with 6 new characters. The game is set for a release in fall and Rovio has not shed much light on the game play. However it mentions in a blog post that “there will be plenty of fun and adventure, but the bunch of passionate pals will also have to deal with some serious issues in order to protect their friendship and the environment they live in. Luckily, Stella and her friends are good at finding creative solutions!”
“Angry Birds Stella is breaking the mold by introducing strong, passionate characters who really stand for something, while adding plenty of action and reality into the mix,” Rovio CEO Mikael Hed says. The developer says that the game “is all about inspiration, empowerment, and other real issues,” without getting into any specifics.
Rovio launched the Angry Birds Go racing game in December last year. The game is a free “kart” racer similar to Mario Kart. It comes with popular Angry Birds characters, including Stella, Chuck and King Pig, and gives the user an option to race as a bird or a pig.
