A lot of gaming fans swear by PlayStations, and now Sony is going to bring a new one to the market soon. The company has revealed the PlayStation 5 Pro. This is an upgraded version of the present PlayStation 5. The new console will soon make its debut with the launch date locked for November 7, 2024.

PlayStation 5 Pro price and specifications

With the new model, Sony promises enhanced performance and visuals. It will come at a starting price of $699.99 which is approximately Rs 58,776. With the PS5 Pro, users might get to see a better GPU. It might offer 67% more computing units and 28% faster memory than the standard PS5. Because of this, the rendering speed will also increase to 45%. Eventually, users will get smoother gameplay and sharper visuals.

The PS5 Pro will also have an advanced ray tracing feature. This will provide users with more realistic lighting effects. Sony claims the system can handle ray tracing up to three times faster than its predecessor.

This time, with the PlayStation 5 Pro, users will also get a PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) feature. This is an AI-driven upscaling technology designed to enhance image quality and frame rates. The console supports 8K resolution, Wi-Fi 7 for faster internet speeds, and variable refresh rates to eliminate screen tearing in fast-paced gaming.

On the storage front, it has been doubled to 2TB. The base model still lacks a disc drive but Sony will offer a detachable drive for purchase.

This is not all, along with the gaming console, over 50 “PS5 Pro Enhanced” titles, will be launched. This includes games like Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The PS5 Pro will also be backward compatible, offering improved performance for over 8,500 PS4 games.

The preorders for PlayStation 5 Pro will begin on September 26, 2024.
