Outwit your opponent with these strategy games for PlayStation 4

Most game genres like platformers, FPS, or racing test a player’s reflexes. However, if you want to test your wits, then you may want to try playing a strategy game. Strategy games cover a vast array of titles and are usually slower-paced as compared to other genres. The pace allows time for you to think your next step, and try to outwit and outsmart your opponents. Here are four strategy games for the PlayStation 4 that are currently available on Amazon.

XCOM 2

XCOM 2 is a turn-based tactics game that sees you try and outmanoeuvre your opponent. The game is set in an alternate reality where humans lost a war with aliens. You take a small group of resistance fighters and control their actions. This would include moving your units to cover and take shots at the enemy aliens. Once you’re done, the computer then controls the enemy units. It should be noted that the game features a form of perma-death, wherein if any particular unit is killed in action, that unit is gone forever, along with any experience that unit might have gotten. This gives you an extra incentive to ensure that your units are safe and secure.

The Banner Saga Trilogy

As the name would suggest the Banner Saga Trilogy consists of all three titles in the Banner Saga series of games. The biggest highlight of this turn-based tactics game is the gorgeous hand-drawn animation, which makes this game stand out from nearly all games currently available in the market. However, just as gorgeous as the art-style is the story which sees you take control of a group of Nords who must battle their way through a world of creatures and monsters. You will also come across points in the story, where you will have to make a decision. The impact of which will have lasting consequences.

Prison Architect

Prison Architect is a construction and management sim that tasks you with building and maintaining a prison. While it may seem simple, it isn’t. Not only will you have to ensure that your prisoners have their basics met, but you’ll also have to ensure that there are enough guards to keep the prisoners in check.

Aside from prison cells, you’ll also have to ensure that there are enough facilities in your prison to take care of any requirements that may pop up. This includes infirmaries, classrooms, and even an execution chamber. If you think that you can run a working and profitable prison, then you may want to give this a try.

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence

Nobunaga’s Ambition: Sphere of Influence is a turn-based strategy game that sees you take control of a warlord’s clan in feudal Japan. Your job is to develop your castle as well as the surrounding countryside while building your armies and making choices that will affect gameplay. Combat is also quite engaging with multiple strategies and tactics on offer. Would you go to war and claim victory through force? Or will you achieve victory through politics? The choice will be yours to make.
