The NPD results for Jan 2010 are in, courtesy NeoGAF. The verdict: more of the same — Nintendo consoles lead, between the HD consoles, the Xbox 360 wins over the Sony PlayStation 3, and what finally looks like the beginning of the end-days for the Sony PlayStation 2. As for the games — Mass Effect 2 did well with 572,000 copies sold. Leading the pack is New Super Mario Bros. Wii on the Nintendo Wii console with more than 600,000 copies sold (guess this means that Reggie of Nintendo America wins the bet). Call of Duty: MW2 sells almost 600,000 as well between the two HD consoles. The top-ten and the console hardware numbers follow:
