Attention all Androids. There is an incoming message. Nier: Automata's Game of the YoRHa Edition is official and will hit the PS4 and PC on February 23, 2019. The Game of the YoRHa Edition was first spotted on the ESRB rating website last month and has now been officially announced by Square Enix. If you are planning on getting the game of the YoRHa edition, you will get the game along with Nier: Automata's 3C3C1D119440927 expansion DLC (yes, that is the name of the downloadable content), the Machine Mask Accessory, and four pod skins: The Grimoire Weiss Pod, Retro Grey Pod, Retro Red Pod, and Cardboard Pod. PS4 owners will get a dynamic system theme and 15 PSN avatars, while those that purchase it for the PC will get two wallpapers. For the PC, the game will be available via Steam and the PS4 version will be available digitally on the PlayStation Store as well as a physical copy.
If you are an Xbox gamer and wondering why the game of the YoHRa edition isn’t coming to Microsoft’s platform then know that the game released for the Xbox One in 2018 and apart from the exclusive content per platform, the in-game content is the same as the Become As Gods Edition which launched on Xbox One this year. The Xbox One X version of Nier Automata brought with it some enhancements to make the most of the power under the hood of the Xbox One X. The game launched for the PC and PS4 back in 2017.
Nier Automata's designer, Yoko Taro, took to twitter to share his thoughts about the upcoming YoRHA Edition. You can check out the details of the tweet here.
Coming to the game itself, Nier Automata is for those that want an action adventure RPG game. The game is quite fast paced and in the opening hour will blow you away with the diversity it brings to the table. The game shifts from being an aerial combat game to a 3D action game, then a 2D action game and a top down hack & slash. Switching between all these profiles gives you an immersive experience. The world in the game is beautiful and multiple endings means that you will revisit this one more than once. The action in the game is very satisfying.
In our review of Nier Automata we said, “Nier Automata is a very good game. A game nobody expected would be THIS good. It’s good enough to make some “greatest of all time” lists. Yoko Taro and Platinum Games have outdone themselves with this one. It’s got fluid gameplay, an amazing and emotional story, interesting characters, different types of gameplay, great combat, a vast open world to explore and a beautiful soundtrack. We’d give it a 9 but the horrible PC port brings it down to 8.5. There’s unofficial ways to get around the issues on the PC port, if you take the trouble to find them.” You can read our complete review of game here.
