A lot has happened before GTA 6, and we still don’t know when it will be released. But as 2025 approaches, there is some hope that we will not have to wait for a really long time. Since we haven’t seen a GTA title in over 10 years now, the game has some high expectations to meet. Rockstar Games, the one behind the GTA series, is tight-lipped and is not slipping out too much but a recent leak reveals what we can expect from the game.

YouTuber LegacyKillaHD spoke to the developers of GTA 6 and he said that the storyline this time can be pretty small, even smaller than Red Dead Redemption 2. But it will have a lot of side content. Taking to X (formerly Twitter) he said, “The game is massive, full of a ton of side content.” We might get to see an expansive world with diverse landscapes, including countryside and towns, along with a central theme focused on “criminals figuring things out” and family struggles.
He further shared that the story this time can be more “grounded,” and can feature deep narrative threads, while still delivering the chaotic, action-packed missions GTA is known for. Some missions may even draw inspiration from the Fast & Furious franchise.
Another rumour reveals that there is going to be a new protagonist, Lucia, who will reportedly take on a leading role alongside fellow character Jason. If rumours are to be believed, both characters can have separate introductory missions.
We still don’t have a definitive date as to when GTA 6 will drop, but the chatter currently suggests that we might get to see the game around the fall of 2025. Until then, let’s take this news with a pinch of salt and wait for an official announcement.
