According to word circulating over the web, Famitsu in its latest issue dated December 1st has announced the release date for Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. Set for release on March 18th next year in Japan, MGS Peace Walker marks Kojima’s first venture into hand-held territory with the franchise. Hideo Kojima is reported to be the producer, co-writer and director on Peace Walker— which is a PSP exclusive and it will be available on UMD as well as a digital download from the PSN Store.
Peace Walker will feature a single player campaign with a plot set around fictional events in Costa Rico, following the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. However, the key elements of this game are in the co-operative multiplayer modes that the game will offer. Up to two players will be able to play co-operatively through the main campaign; whereas up to four players can join in on boss missions. In multiplayer, the game will offer a choice of four distinct classes of Snake, like heavy infantry (Armored Snake) and stealth specialist (Naked Snake).
