Rockstar Games released the first trailer of the most-awaited GTA 6 / GTA VI game on December 5, 2023. The next Grand Theft Auto title is set to launch in 2025. Earlier, we reported that the GTA VI trailer generated such immense excitement among GTA enthusiasts that it accumulated over 90 million views within the first 24 hours of its release. Now, the Guinness World Records has revealed that this trailer broke three YouTube records in just 24 hours of its release.
The Guinness World Records has confirmed that the GTA VI’s first trailer became the most viewed video game reveal on YouTube in 24 hours, accumulating 90,421,491 views.

In its initial 24 hours, the GTA 6 trailer garnered 8.9 million likes, securing its place as the most-liked video game trailer on YouTube to date.

Even outside the gaming world, it managed to surpass MrBeast’s “Every Country On Earth Fights For $250,000” video, which held the record for the most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours (non-music).
The GTA VI trailer starts with the introduction of a female character named Lucia, wearing an orange prison jumpsuit. She is apparently going to commit crimes with her partner upon her release from jail. The trailer’s focus on Lucia hints that she might serve as the game’s protagonist.
In a press release, Rockstar Games mentioned that the GTA VI game is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in 2025.
The press release also provided a very brief description of the upcoming game. “Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet,” Rockstar Games said.
