It has been slightly over a decade now and still, we don’t know when Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) will drop. It has become one of the most awaited games in the history of gaming. While Rockstar Games, the company behind GTA 6, decides to remain tight-lipped about a release date or any other details, rumours, and leaks are circulating on the internet in full swing. New reports suggest it might not launch in 2025 as previously planned. While Rockstar Games had officially announced a 2025 release, recent leaks indicate that the game could be delayed until 2026.
Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar’s parent company, still claims that GTA 6 will launch in Fall 2025. However, a trusted insider, @Mvbrr, has hinted that the game may not be ready in time. Furthermore, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier also reported that the game has already faced multiple internal delays. So we might not get the game even in 2025. Sorry guys!
The first trailer of GTA 6 dropped in December 2023, and ever since then fans have been eagerly waiting for the second teaser. If leaks are to be believed, Trailer 2 could drop on April 1, 2025, potentially showcasing gameplay and new in-game locations. The first trailer confirmed that the game is set in Vice City and introduced two main characters, Jason and Lucia, inspired by the infamous Bonnie and Clyde.
Although Rockstar has not officially announced pre-orders, Malaysian retailer Gamers Hideout has reportedly started taking deposits. However, fans should wait for an official confirmation.
If leaks are to be believed, GTA 6’s standard edition could cost over $100 (around Rs 5,999 in India), making it one of the priciest AAA games to date, with special editions possibly exceeding Rs 7,299.
