As for the PC specific features, players can expect the following.
NVIDIA DLSS AI PERFORMANCE BOOST
“Using NVIDIA’s revolutionary Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) software combined with their exceptional RTX GPUs, players will be able to experience God of War running at increased resolutions while retaining high frame rates. DLSS uses machine learning to upscale the game resolution giving you amazing picture quality without the sacrifice to performance”.
NVIDIA REFLEX
“When facing your toughest opponents like Sigrun the Valkyrie Queen, how quickly you can react to her attacks can make all the difference between life and death in a fight. With NVIDIA Reflex, gameplay on God of War (2018) for PC will be responsive with reduced system latency across several generations of NVIDIA GeForce RTX and GTX GPUs (NVIDIA Reflex is supported on GTX 900 series or better)”.
AMD FIDELITYFX SUPER RESOLUTION
“We are also happy to support AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) so our players with AMD GPUs can take advantage of their visual enhancement technology!”
ENHANCED GRAPHICS
“Higher-resolution shadows, improved screen-space reflections, enhanced Ground Truth Ambient Occlusion (GTAO) and Screen Space Directional Occlusion (SSDO), alongside highly detailed assets and rendering solutions means God of War on PC will be a beautiful, crisp visual experience”.
What will be interesting to see is how the game performance when compared to the 4K 60FPS patch released for God of War’s performance on the PS5 (review). With God of War Ragnarök on the horizon, Sony wants to give PC gamers a taste of one of its best exclusive games in the hope that it may entice PC gamers to get onto the PlayStation bandwagon. God of War Ragnarök is one of the most anticipated games of 2022 and has also been confirmed to close out the Norse saga of the franchise. Sony PS5’s are flying off the shelves faster than Sony can make them. Sony has reduced its forecast of PS5 sales from 15 million to 14.8 million by March 2022 because of the ongoing global chip shortage. If you are still rocking a PS4, then fear not. Upcoming Sony exclusives like Horizon Forbidden West and God of War Ragnarök will also launch on the PS4.
