Gameloft announces Dark Knight Rises for Android and iOS
Gameloft has announced a new open world game based on the upcoming Batman movie, the Dark Knight Rises. The game will be available for the iOS and Android platform and is expected to be available on the Google Play store and the Apple App Store in time for the release of the blockbuster movie. No other details were revealed, such as price or an accurate release date.
A trailer of the game has been released by Gameloft, which begins with the caped crusader standing on a tall building watching over Gotham city. The trailer also shows off some cool combat moves where Batman takes on thugs in a fist-to-fist fight. Since the game expected to be open world, we hope to be able to navigate the city in the way Batman did in Batman: Arkham City.
Since Rocksteady’s seminal Batman: Arkham City was one of the most successful superhero games ever made, we hope Gameloft has taken a hint from what all the game did right, and tried to implement it in the mobile version of the game.
The Dark Knight Rises will hit theaters on July 20, 2012 and will be the last film in Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of the super hero franchise.
This isn’t the first time that Gameloft has released a game that is tied in with a Hollywood movie release. Just recently it launched a Men in Black game that tied in with the release of the Men in Black 3 film.
