Garena has announced two Free Fire tournaments as 2020 comes to a close. The Free Fire Battle Arena Season 2 and Free Fire Total Gaming tournaments have been announced as the two concluding events for the year. The second season of Battle Arena is already underway while Total Gaming is set to begin from December 12. Recently, Garena announced its collaboration with Cristiano Ronaldo for an in-game character called Chrono.
With two new tourneys, Free Fire is making a clear headway into the pent-up anticipation over the release of PUBG Mobile in India. The company has been increasing its interaction with the Free Fire players in India as it also hosted a tournament in partnership with Reliance Jio Mart Gameathon in October. Here’s everything you should know about both the Free Fire tournaments.
The Battle Arena Season 2 is already underway as the qualifiers began on December 4 in India. This tournament enables casual gamers to test their skills and a total of 18 teams have already qualified for the League Days matches that will be held between December 11 and 13.
The top six teams from League Days matches will directly qualify for the Grand Finals while the bottom 12 teams will enter another round called Play-Ins that is scheduled for December 16. The top six qualifying teams from Play-Ins will be eligible to go up against the other six teams from League Days matches that are to be held on December 18.
The Total Gaming tournament is an invitational tourney that will see top streamers and teams from India, Bangladesh and Nepal fight it out for a prize pool of Rs 2 lacs (Rs 2,00,000). The event is being hosted by Total Gaming esports which has previously represented India at the Free Fire Continental Asia Series Tournament and also won the Free Fire India Championship 2020.
The Total Gaming tournament will be live-streamed on Booyah!, and will witness 36 teams consisting of streamers like Lokesh Gamer, Sooneeta and Gaming Subrata join the finalists of the Booyah! Cup Invitational on November 23. Being the host, Total Gaming esports will also be participating in the tournament matches that begins from December 12 and will continue for five weekends with the Grand Finals scheduled for December 26.
