Fortnite update 7.40 released with challenges that get you Season 8 Battle Pass for free

Fortnite players rejoice! The 7.40 patch for the game is here and brings with it a free Season 8 Battle Pass. The official Epic Games website reads, “Everyone who completes 13 free Overtime Challenges by February 27 will receive the upcoming Season 8 Battle Pass for FREE! If you don’t have an outfit, now is your chance to get several for free. With the Battle Pass, you’ll receive two Season 8 Outfits instantly and you can earn up to five more. Save your V-Bucks, this one’s on us!” As a Valentine's day special, players can send the Heartspan Glider to their special someone for free. But this is valid till Friday February 15.

There is also a limited time mode called Catch! In this mode all guns have been removed. The only weapons available to players are grenades and other items that can be thrown. The available items include smoke grenades, clingers, remote explosives, Port-a-Forts, Impulse Grenades and Shockwave Grenades. 

There is another limited time mode called Team Rumble where two large teams fight for the Victory Royale in an action-packed mode where the first team to get 100 eliminations wins. 

The update also brings with it some bug fixes including fixing an issue causing projectile weapons to fire inaccurately when aiming at other players from very close range. Another issue that get a fix is the issue that was causing explosive splash damage to be blocked when players didn’t actually have cover. The game is set in the Titanfall universe and people who have played Titanfall will feel right at home in this game.
