Few hours left for PUBG PC players to claim 20,000 BP and free clothing item
As compensation for the matchmaking issues, Bluehole is offering all PC players a chance to claim 20,000BP and a Black Beanie with Headphones clothing item as long as they login and claim the reward before 5:30AM IST on October 24.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds or PUBG may not be the beacon of smooth gameplay, but at least you can’t say Bluehole is being unapologetic about it. The developer has already announced a peace offering to all PC players who were facing issues with the game’s new matchmaking mechanics. Anyone who logs into the PC version of the game will get 20,000 BP and a Black Beanie with Headphones clothing item. However, you may want to do this quick as the last day to login and claim the reward is 5PM PDT on Oct 23. This means that players in India have till 5:30AM tomorrow, Oct 24, to make the claim.
This peace offering may not fix all the bugs and problems players in the game, but it should play a small part in stemming some of the negative reactions that the game is getting. While Bluehole has launcehd a ‘FixPUBG’ initiative in order to resolve the many issues that people have with the game, the problems keep on coming. Soon after announcing this gift, the developers announced that they were cancelling the Platoon Mode event that was scheduled to happen this week. The exact reason for the cancellation is not yet known, only that there was a “critical error.” Bluehole noted that the event will not happen next week either, “but will return at a later date.” The event would have seen two teams of 50 players each battle it out in Erangel.
PUBG also has a Halloween event lined up. Not much is known about the event expect that players will get a change to get new halloween skins. This includes a scary clown, nurse butcher and more. The developers have also released a new teaser for the event. There is also a Halloween event planned for PUBG Mobile. Update 0.9.0 for the game brings with it a bunch of new features including Halloween themed effects. The Spawn Island will feature a festive makeover and players will be able to interact with other players by picking up pumpkins and candies. Enemies killed by the Hellfire AKM will become scarecrows and when a grenade explodes, a “spooky” face will appear. There’s also a 50% chance to activate Night Mode when the Halloween event period is active. The new update will be available to mobile gamers from October 23 onwards.
We sincerely apologize for the negative experience caused by our recent server connectivity and matchmaking related issues. As compensation, we will be gifting all PC players the Black Beanie with Headphones item along with 20,000 BP. Log in to PUBG by 5pm PDT on Oct 23 to claim. pic.twitter.com/CW5L8nf25z
