DLC updates for Resident Evil 5, Assassin’s Creed 2 and Uncharted 2
Some bits of new information on DLC for Resident Evil 5, Assassin’s Creed 2 and Uncharted 2 have surfaced in the last couple of days.
According to a news report by Siliconera, the latest issue of Famitsu has details about the second chapter in the Resident Evil 5 Alternative Edition DLC. This chapter— titled Desperate Escape— will feature Jill Valentine and Josh Stone as playable characters on a support mission. This is not surprising since Josh Stone is the BSAA officer who would crop-up regularly in Resident Evil 5, to stage wondrous rescues. He is also confirmed to be a playable character in The Mercenaries Reunion along with Chris and Sheva.
Meanwhile, Joystiq has reported details on Assassin’s Creed 2 DLC which is due in the months of January and February 2010. One of the DLC package is titled ‘Battle of Forli’ and will add a mission to the game where you will be defending Forli from the Orsi brothers, with the aid of Machiavelli and Caterina Sforza. The second pack— which is titled ‘Bonfire of the Vanities’— will add a new district in Florence, a new move for Ezio and a new mission that will see you and Machiavelli going against the monk Savonarola. Battle of Forli will also add six new memories and make your wallet thinner by USD 3.99; while Bonfire of the Vanities will be sold for USD 4.99 and add ten new memories. Between the two of them, the missing sequences 12 and 13 from the original game will also be filled up.
More information on online game updates, courtesy of the good folks at Joystiq . In a quick and short interview with Naughty Dog’s Evan Wells during VGA 2009, they discussed the studio’s plan for additional content for Uncharted 2. Evan emphasized that currently the studio has no plans for publishing any DLC for the game, but later added that it may be a possibility in the future. Instead, the developer’s are focusing on tightening the screws around Uncharted 2’s multiplayer features. To that effect, they are working on new maps, a couple of new game modes, and character skins. He also confirmed that they will be releasing a new patch for the game later this month, so we are guessing that at least some of the new content he mentioned will be part of this new patch.
