Digit Zero1 Awards and Best Buy Awards 2023: Best Performing Gaming Mice
We celebrate the winners of Digit Zero1 Award and Best Buy Award 2023 for the gaming mice category
The Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 wins the prestigious Digit Zero1 Award for outstanding performance
The SteelSeries Aerox 5 wins the Digit Best Buy Award for providing outstanding value
Superlight mice have been all the craze for sometime now, and for the competitive gamer, the weight of a mouse is actually a pretty significant aspect to keep in consideration. With the Zero1 Awards being all about performance, it’s fitting that every single mouse nomination this year was a superlight mouse. These mice are all about performance and ditching the unnecessary frills that otherwise weigh a mouse down.

Of course, feature-rich mice still have their place for genres like MOBAs and MMORPGs, but when it comes to pure sensor performance, the FPS genre is where its at. Another thing worth pointing out is that 90 per cent of the mice nominations were wireless, so we’re definitely entering a cable drag-free era. With that out of the way, our Digit Zero1 Award winner this year is the successor of last year’s winner. Either you got that immediately, or we’ll tell you immediately anyway.
Digit Zero1 Award Winner: Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 (Buy now)
Price: ₹16,995
The Logitech G Pro X SUPERLIGHT 2 comes equipped with the reliable Logitech HERO sensor, known for its enduring precision and speed. You can fine-tune the CPI in 50-step increments, which is handy for adjusting it to your liking. The Superlight 2’s sensor is accurate and tracks well, crucial for top-notch mouse performance, with a tracking speed rated at 400 IPS. Thanks to advancements, wireless mice now match wired ones, and the G Pro X SUPERLIGHT 2 boasts low click latency, making it perfect for competitive online gaming.

Weighing in at just 60 g, the mouse is exceptionally lightweight, maintaining excellent build quality. Despite shedding some features for the sake of lightness, it retains the essential two side buttons for gaming. In our view, sacrificing a few features for superior performance is a fair trade-off, especially for competitive gaming. The Logitech G Pro X SUPERLIGHT 2 earns our Digit Zero1 Award 2023 for the best-performing gaming mouse.
Runner-up: BenQ Zowie EC2-CW (Buy now)
Price: ₹19,990
The Zowie EC2-CW came very close to the Logitech G Pro X Superlight 2 in terms of performance, offering excellent accuracy and tracking with its sensor. The PixArt PAW3370 sensor certainly holds its own and is one of the best sensors we’ve tested to date. It also had some of the best click latency we’ve seen on a mouse which is excellent for a competitive gaming mouse, something that Zowie prides itself on with these mice. The mouse doesn’t come with software support, and allows for on-the-fly customisation via the mouse itself. The degrees of customisation that have been achieved in this way is also very impressive. That said, the Superlight 2 still came out on top in terms of sheer performance. However, the Zowie EC2-CW definitely deserves credit and its runner-up spot in the Best Performing Gaming Mouse category.
Digit Best Buy Award Winner: SteelSeries Aerox 5 (Buy now)
Price: ₹8,999
While the rest of the mice in this category were focused on shedding the frills and the weight, the SteelSeries Aerox 5 manages to keep the frills while shedding the weight. Most gaming mice sensors these days are incredibly accurate, especially if you’re looking at big-name brands like Logitech, SteelSeries, Zowie, Razer and the like. While the Aerox 5 did fall short in terms of performance against the Superlight 2 and the EC2-CW, it wasn’t by much.

The Aerox 5 also happened to be the only wired mouse that was nominated this year, which did cost it a bit in terms of performance. That said, the sensor is still very accurate and with all the additional features that you get with the Aerox 5 – including 5 extra buttons! – and the very enticing price point, this just might be the right mouse for you. For these reasons, the SteelSeries Aerox 5 takes home the Digit Best Buy Award 2023.
