NVIDIA announced the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series, including RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER at CES 2024.

These GPUs feature AI-powered NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technologies, including Super Resolution, Frame Generation, and Ray Reconstruction.

The series showcases significant computing power with up to 52 shader TFLOPS, 121 RT TFLOPS, and 836 AI TOPS.

NVIDIA today unveiled its latest range of GPUs, the GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series, including the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and RTX 4070 SUPER. These GPUs, based on the NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture, and boasts up to 52 shader TFLOPS, 121 RT TFLOPS, and 836 AI Tops on the flagship. The GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER starts at $599.

And it goes without saying that gamers get to utilise AI features such as NVIDIA Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) Super Resolution, Frame Generation, and Ray Reconstruction technologies, combined with ray tracing with these new cards.

“For everyone from gaming enthusiasts to creative professionals, GeForce RTX SUPER GPUs are simply awesome upgrades,” said Matt Wuebbling, vice president of global GeForce marketing at NVIDIA. “GeForce RTX SUPER cards support over 500 RTX games and applications and will have users prepared for the wave of generative AI apps coming to PC.”

With the addition of these new cards, there will be some rejigs to justify the pricing and positioning of older cards. Some cards will get price cuts while others might be phased out entirely. From a pricing perspective, the RTX 4080 Super is being priced at $999 which is quite surprising and makes the RTX 4080 stand out. Which is why the RTX 4080 is being replaced with the RTX 4080 SUPER. This also means that AMD needs to revisit its pricing. Thankfully, in India the AMD cards are priced cheaper than their NVIDIA counterparts at the moment. Along with the RTX 4080, even the RTX 4070 Ti will stop selling soon. However, the RTX 4070 will get a minor price drop to make the RTX 4070 SUPER find a place in the stack.

The GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER is tailored for fully ray-traced games running at 4K resolution. It is supposedly 1.4x faster than the RTX 3080 Ti without DLSS Frame Generation and delivers enhanced performance with traditional rasterization. With 836 AI TOPS, the RTX 4080 SUPER, equipped with more cores and faster memory, is set to be available from January 31, starting at $999.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER

The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER is being marketed for gaming at 1440p and up to 4K. It surpasses the RTX 4070 Ti with more cores, a larger 16 GB frame buffer, and a 256-bit memory bus, resulting in a significant memory bandwidth increase to 672 GB/sec. It is about 1.6x faster than the RTX 3070 Ti and 2.5x with DLSS 3. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER will be available from January 24 at $799.
