Call of Duty: Warzone’s Season 5 update dropped yesterday and it came with a host of new additions including brand new multiplayer maps, new guns and Warzone map changes like a moving train. Here is everything new in the new season:
Call of Duty: Warzone
This season has brought many changes to the Verdansk map. The biggest of all is the blowing up of the Stadium by the new Shadow faction. This event had been rumoured for quite some time now and finally, players can land at the Stadium and fight in the stands, on the field or in the parking lots making the Stadium a hot-drop location. The Stadium wasn’t the only POI made open for exploration with the Train Station now opened up. Players can land at the Train Station and loot the North-East wing which was locked before.
Another significant change was the addition of a moving train. The BR map now has a train which loops around the map. Players can land on the train to find loot and vehicles, but beware this train stops for nothing. If you try coming in front of the train you will face an instant death or if you park a vehicle on the tracks then the train will most definitely push it off.
Multiple grapple points have also been added to the map to make scaling of tall buildings faster. This should make it easier for players to challenge opponents camping on top of rooftops and make the gameplay faster.
The Gulag has also witnessed an exciting change. The 1v1 area will now see 4 sets of weapon rotations across the entire season rather than the single set seen in previous seasons. This means that players will get a new set of random weapons each week. The ground loot on the Warzone map has also been updated, now players will be able to loot a new set of weapons to fight for survival on Verdansk.
A new BR mode has also been added to Warzone called ‘Mini Royale’ which is a fast-paced game of Battle Royale in condensed areas of Verdansk.
Modern Warfare Multiplayer
Two brand new weapons are now available to players in Multiplayer and Warzone. The first being an assault rifle: AN-94, which unlocks for free in tier 31 of the battle pass. The second is a new SMG: ISO, which unlocks for free in tier 15 of the battle pass. A new melee weapon called the dual Kodachis has also been added which can be unlocked by completing challenges in-game.
For all multiplayer players, there are two new 6v6 maps available in rotation called Petrov Oil Rig and Suldal Harbour. A new ground war map has also been added in the form of the Verdansk Airport from the Warzone map. A new map for the Gunfight game mode has also been added called Livestock.
A new game mode has been added in rotation called Search and Destroy Double Down which is the traditional game mode but 12v12, so expect tons of chaos.
One new feature which has also been added this season is Weapon Inspect which players on console can access by holding the LEFT button on the D-Pad. This is a new animation which allows players to inspect their weapon.
This seasonal update was large, as expected. For PS4 players it was 33.9 GB, for Xbox One players it was 49.8 GB and for PC players it was up to 54.2 GB. Like previous updates, after download, they will take up lesser space in your hard disk on the console.
There has not been any gun-balancing patch yet, but Infinity Ward has confirmed that it will be coming soon. Many bugs which have been plaguing the game have also been fixed in this update. Click here to see the full patch notes.
