Best party games for over 10 adults

Parties and gatherings are a great way to unwind after a long week. What better way to do that than busting out a party game and playing with your friends? While most games are meant for smaller groups, there are indeed a few excellent options that let more than 10 people participate at a time. We have curated a list of such games available right here on Amazon. These games have been chosen based on their genre and general playability.

Cards Against Humanity

Ever since Cards Against Humanity (or CaH) came out a decade ago, it has been a party staple. The game contains two kinds of cards – black question cards and white answer cards. The black question cards contain statements usually in the form of fill in the blanks that are answered by the words or phrases printed on the white answer cards. At the start of the game, 10 white cards are dealt to each player, and the black cards are shuffled and made into a deck. One of the players is designated the Card Czar or judge who draws one of these black question cards turns it face up, and reads the question aloud. The other players choose one of their white cards, which can potentially answer that question. The Czar then reads out the question again and fills in the blanks with the answer on each white card shared by the players. The owner of the white card whose answer the Czar deems funniest wins a point. What makes the game so much fun is the politically incorrect or risque questions and answer combinations leading to major hilarity.

Never Have I Ever Cards

Never Have I Ever is a game that many of us would’ve come across already. The basic premise is to gather in a group, and each member takes turns going “Never Have I Ever…” followed by a statement that is typically a confession of something they’ve done before in their lives. Generally played as a drinking game, people who have also done the action take a sip of their drinks while the people who haven’t don’t. Now in the card format, instead of having to think of a statement for themselves, each member draws a card in turn and reads it out loud – with the same drinking rules. Of course, these cards are a bit more salacious with some rather scandalous statements written on them, so make sure to play this with a close group of adult friends.

Sequence Family Card Board Game

Sequence is a card-based board game for up to 12 players. Players are divided into two or three teams consisting of an equal number of members in each. The objective of Sequence is to be the first team to make two or more connections of five chips of the same colour. All players are dealt an equal number of cards and each team takes turns playing. Each player gets to discard a card from their hand and place a marker on the same card on the board. The teams go back and forth, discarding cards and placing markers until one team manages to get five in a row. Sequence tests your wits and reflexes and makes for an engaging pastime for most age groups.

Hasbro Gaming Taboo Board Game

Now regarded as a classic, Taboo has been beloved by many since its inception in 1989. To play, you will need two teams with an equal number of members. A “clue giver” is sent forth from a team, who will pick up a card from a deck. This person will have to describe the word on the card to their team without mentioning any of the five ‘taboo’ words that are also on the card. Other than these taboo words, the Clue Giver is allowed to say any combination of words and phrases to make their team guess what the word on the card is. Once their team guesses the correct word, the Clue Giver puts the card in the “points” pile and draws another card and repeats the process. Racing against the clock for a stipulated time period (typically 2 minutes), teams need to guess as many words as possible and earn points.

Drunk, Stoned or Stupid

Do you ever wonder how highly your friends think of you or how well they know you? Wonder no further, for here is a game that shows you the reality. Drunk, Stoned or Stupid is a game played with a deck of cards with certain statements on them. A randomly chosen player is given the title of “Judge” and draws a card, and reads the statement out loud. Everyone else in the group then decides which person in their group is most relatable to the card and states so – alongside with their argument of why they think so. It could be because of personality traits, past experiences or simple suspicion. This leads to a lot of laughs as the statements aren’t truly malicious; they are more along the lines of “Who is most likely to be allergic to everything”. Best played with a group of people who have known each other for a long time, it is a great way to pass an evening and enjoy a few laughs at each other’s expense.

Catchphrase

Classic games not appealing to you? Played Taboo enough that you know all of the words on the cards? Brush past all that with Catchphrase! This electronic game from Hasbro follows similar rules as Taboo, albeit it is much more streamlined and thereby faster. An electronic disc takes the place of cards and provides the Clue Giver with words from its over five thousand word library. The disc also takes care of the timekeeping and scoring aspects so that the opponent team can issue friendly jeers and taunts to annoy the guessing team while the game is going on. The disc emits a buzzer noise when the guessing time is up, and the Clue Giver has to toss the disc to the opposing team for them to take their chance. The game is also much more portable, allowing you to carry it along on your outings easily.
