PUBG is making a return to Indian shores! No, we aren’t talking about Battlegrounds Mobile India, but PUBG New State, a brand new game from PUBG Studios/Krafton Inc. The new game is up for pre-registration on both iOS and Android. The exact release date is not yet known, but it should be launched within a few weeks.
Here’s a look at some of the changes players can expect to see in PUBG New State.
While Battlegrounds Mobile India, and by extension PUBG Mobile, are pretty much set in the current day, PUBG New State is set in the near future. Set in the year 2051, the game is a world gripped by anarchy in and new factions have emerged.
The game will feature a new map called Troi. This map will be about the same size as Erangel at 8x8km. Additional details about the map is not yet known, but judging by the trailer, it should feature a mix of urban and rural areas.
At the core level, the gameplay of PUBG New State won’t be that different. The battle royale formula will still remain and will see 100 players duke it out to be the last player/team standing. PLayers will still have to scavenge the map for weapons, armour and equipment, although players may see a slightly greater degree of weapon customisation options.
There will be a few new changes keeping in mind the futuristic settings of the game. New mechanics include dodging, drone calls and support requests.
PUBG New State might also offer much improved graphical fidelity over its predecessor. According to the game’s official listing, it will feature “global illumination” technology to “surpass what was previously possible in mobile gaming graphics.” The listing also notes that the game will require at least a 64-bit CPU and 2GB of RAM.
