Assassin’s Creed III Day One Edition for PS3 and Xbox 360 announced

With just 2 days to go, E-xpress Interactive, distributors of Assassin’s Creed III in India, have come forth to appease the fans of the franchise. It has been announced that Assassin’s Creed III Day One Edition will be a special edition for PS3 and the Xbox 360. While the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions both feature unlockable content and a Dangerous Secret, the PS3 version of the Day One pack will also feature 60 minutes of exclusive gameplay which is not on the Xbox 360.

Ubisoft has already detailed its plan for the “What the F***” DLC where Connor, the main protagonist of the game fights an evil George Washington. The “episode” is vested in an alternate reality and essentially plays on the “what if” scenario, where George Washington has given in to the temptation of Infinite Power.

“History is our playground – and Assassin’s Creed teams have always loved playing with historical facts and their consequences as a way to better understand a time period,” explained Ubisoft executive producer Sebastien Puel. “While Assassin’s Creed 3 concentrates on history as it happens, we wanted to take some liberties with this DLC and tell you how things ‘could have happened.'”

The Day One Edition DLC will be a single player campaign split into 3 episodes. While the season pass for the DLC featuring the Evil George Washington campaign is pegged at 2400 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live and $30 for all platforms, the price of the Day One editions of the game is not yet known.

Assassin’s Creed III is set to launch globally on October 31, with Federation of Gamers (Saket, New Delhi) and Game The Store (Oberoi Mall, Mumbai) hosting midnight launches for the game at their respective stores. The midnight launch will give fans of the franchise a chance to win some exclusive game-memorabilia along with free DLC codes along with being able to play the game at the stores.
