The latest Angry Birds Space game will be available on Windows Phone 7 platform soon. Turning down reports that Rovio is doing away with Windows platform, company chief executive Mikael Hed said that Rovio is working towards getting Angry Birds Space to WP7 soon. However, the official did not give any specific timeframe for the roll-out of the game to the WP7 platform.
Angry Birds Space was launched last week for iOS, Android and for the PCs and Mac. Rovio’s games are topping sales charts on all major platforms and move to skip the Windows Phone was dubbed as a major jolt to Nokia’s efforts to provide Angry Birds game in all its smartphones.
“We are working closely together with Nokia to bring our games to their platforms,” Hed said. “Our mutual goal is to bring the best possible experience to our fans, including all fans using Windows Phone devices.”
Angry Birds Space has been released as a free, ad-supported app on Android, and as a paid, 99-cent version. Angry Birds Space for the iPhone costs 99 cents, while the Retina-ready “HD” iPad app costs $2.99. A special Android tablet-optimised version also costs $2.99.
