A decade, 10 whole years, so many months that I am even lazy to calculate, but where is GTA 6? A lot has happened before the release of Grand Theft Auto 6 and now after a lot of wait, it seems that we finally have a release date. Or do we? The new game from the Grand Theft Auto series is expected to drop in the fall of 2025.
As I mentioned earlier, the game has been in development for over 10 years and was teased last year. It has faced certain setbacks in terms of its development and launch. Rockstar Games, which is behind GTA 6, had even shifted its focus completely to Red Dead Redemption 2 in 2018 and was then later faced with a significant cyberattack in 2022 that disrupted operations.
Additionally, Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier reported that although GTA 6 has missed several internal deadlines, confidence within Rockstar remains strong about the new timeline. Despite these hurdles, Rockstar has assured fans that production is “on track” for the anticipated release window.
Rockstar Studios has yet not announced a specific release date. This ambiguity is not only annoying but other rival publishers are holding back their own release schedules to avoid clashing with GTA 6’s launch.
Even though a lot is not known about the game yet, we know that this season GTA returns to Vice City. A recent gameplay leak also has given high hopes to eager fans. It is such a cult game that despite all the delays fans are trying to get that one ray of sunshine. Even though reports suggest that we can see a Fall 2025 release, an official announcement from the studios is still awaited.
