Hot on the heels of the international launch of the PlayStation 3 Slim and the price cut for the original 80GB ‘Fat PS3’ comes an announcement from Sony Computer Entertainment India that the country will see a price cut too, along with two games thrown into the bundle.
The price of the 80GB Fat PS3 has been set at Rs 19,990, a clear 20 per cent drop in price. To make the purchase even more attractive, the PS3 80 GB will be offered with 2 free games – Uncharted : Drake’s Fortune and GT5 Prologue.
Talking about the new offer, Atindriya Bose, Sony Computer Entertainment – Country Manager, said: “We stand committed to develop gaming as a coveted interactive entertainment avenue for the Indians. The high adoption of Playstation by the Indian consumers will be further fuelled by the new prices and offerings before the Indian festive seasons. The new sub-20K price on PS3 not only positions it as an attractive gaming console but makes it perhaps the best value for money Blu-Ray entertainment device for the family.”
The new price cut will be effective from today itself. And grab these while you can, folks, because Sony plans on fazing out the console in favour of the PS3, which you can read about more in Think Digit’s exclusive report.
