5 notable features of the new PUBG Mobile update
HIGHLIGHTS

The version 0.9.0 update for PUBG Mobile adds a Night Mode as well as much needed dose of light heartedness to the game.

Version 0.9.0 of PUBG Mobile is here and with it comes a bunch of cool little features such as Night Mode, Halloween themed effects and clothes and many more. The update should be rolling out to everyone automatically, but if you still haven’t got it yet, you might want to update it manually. Here are five of the most interesting features that the update brings to the table.

Night Mode

This is definitely the most interesting new addition made to the game. Fighting at night would require whole new tactics to be employed. The limited visibility would not only give you a better chance of springing an ambush on a group of players, but would also give you a chance to retreat should things go sour. The addition of Night Vision Goggles definitely makes them one of the most sought after items in Night Mode.

Happy Hauntings

With Halloween just around the corner, the world of PUBG also received a festive makeover. This starts right from the home screen where one can see a haunted house in the background along with carved pumpkins all around the main character. The Spawn Island also features carved pumpkins everywhere, and players get a change to throw small, candy filled pumpkins at other players as they wait for the game to start.

A bit of a laugh

PUBG is a pretty serious and ‘realistic’ a game as compared to something like Fortnite, which has a bit of a silliness about its gameplay with portable rifts as well as Thanos himself gracing the game for a limited tie. With version 0.9.0, that’s about to change a bit. Now, anyone killed by the Hellfire AKM will turn into a scarecrow instead of simply turning into a loot crate. Also, the smoke from a grenade explosion will now feature a ‘spooky face’. It may not be as ‘out-there’ as Fortnite, but it’s definitely quite neat.

Play dress up

Another new feature (which is very Fortnite-esq) is the addition of costumes and vehicle skill. Now, players have the option of gunning down foes while dressed up like a mummy, and then ride off in a Halloween-themed car.

Seriously, if anyone says that they find PUBG to serious, show them this launch trailer for the new version of the game.

Of course, there have been some changes and additions made to the game. These may not have been as fun or exciting as the above features, but they still add a lot to the game.

Better matchmaking

The version 0.9.0 update of PUBG brings better matchmaking. The system will now prioritize teammates who speak the same language. It doesn’t seem like much, but anyone who has paired up with someone who doesn’t speak the language knows why this is important.

Sanhok gets some love

Sanhok is the newest and smallest map out of the three maps offered to players. Its small size has made it quite popular with players as it leads to more exciting gameplay. The update adds a new weapon and a new vehicle exclusively for the map. This includes the QBU DMR rifle (which replaces the Mini14) and the Rony pickup truck. These two additions suit the Southeast Asian setting of the game. After all, it makes more sense to see an Asian-looking pickup truck than an Eastern European-est UAZ at the location.
