15 exciting game announcements from The Game Awards: The Outer Worlds, Far Cry New Dawn, Dragon Age 4, Mortal Kombat 11 and more
If you are one that is looking forward to some upcoming games, then here are 15 trailers worth checking out that were shown off at The Game Awards 2018.
The fifth annual Game Awards just concluded today and if you are interested in checking out the winners and watching the full show, you can do so here. But awards aren’t the only focus of the show. At the Game Awards 2018, we got to see a bunch of exciting trailers for upcoming games. Some of these game have already been announced whereas others have been revealed for the first time.
The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe
Puns, sarcasm and a lot of jabs at the Last of Us is the best way to describe the Stanley Parable. This isn’t a new game by any means, but it is coming to consoles for the first time with a lot of new content. PC gamers, fret not, the content will be available for the PC version of the game as well.
Far Cry New Dawn
Set after the end of Far Cry 5, Far Cry New Dawn takes the series in the past apocalyptic world for the first time. A teaser trailer for the game was shown off at the game awards and the game is releasing in February 2019.
Dragon Age 4
If RPG is the genre of your choice, then there is good news for you. The last game in the Dragon Age franchise, Dragon Age: Inquisition launched in 2014 and now the fourth game in the franchise conveniently titled Dragon Age 4 is coming. There is no release date available for the game.
Mortal Kombat 11
The next fighting game from NetherRealm Studios and High Voltage Software is of course Mortal Kombat 11. The game will bring with it familiar characters with redefined abilities and of course spruced up graphics. Mortal Kombat 11 will launch on April 23, 2018.
Scavengers
Scavengers is a co-op shooter game brought to you by Midwinter Entertainment. The studio has a mix of Call of Duty, battlefield and Halo veterans so it is safe to say that the team knows how to make a good shooting game. The game is a match-based multiplayer game. No official release date for the game has been announced.
The Outer Worlds
The Outer Worlds is a new IP from developer Obsidian. The best way to describe the Outer Worlds is that it looks like the love child of Fallout and Borderlands. Giving a Fallout vibe makes sense as the game is being developed by the masterminds behind Fallout New Vegas. No release date for the game has been announced.
Hades
As the name suggests, Hades is a fresh take on the God of Death from Greek Mythology. The game is a top down dungeon crawler action game and the best part is that you can buy the game now and play it on your PC from the Epic game store.
Atlas
If you were disappointed by Sea of Thieves, then there is a new game releasing on December 13 called Atlas. It is a online multiplayer first person pirate adventure game where you and your mates can explore and take on the creatures of the sea. The game is coming to Steam on December 13th and Xbox Game Preview next year.
Psychonauts 2
In development for about three years, Psychonauts 2 is hitting store shelves in 2019. The trailer gives us a look at the platforming, puzzles and some of the action you can expect to endure in the game.
Stranger Things 3: The Game
Season 3 of Netflix’s Stranger Thing is yet to be announced but it looks like an 8-bit game recreation of the series is already underway. The trailer doesn’t reveal anything about the show. There is no information about a release date either but we can expect the game will release in tandem with the show.
The Pathless
From the creators of the action game Abzu comes a new adventure. This time, instead of using your kicks and punches you will use a bow and a quiver full of arrows to take down your foes. The game is slated to launch in 2019.
The Last Campfire
From the creators of No Mans Sky comes a new game – The last Campfire. Creatoer Hello Games seems to have made a cel shaded game that reminds us a lot of Ori and the Blind Forest. Few gameplay elements of the last Campfire have been revealed and there was no announcement of a release date.
Dauntless
If a co-op Monster Hunter like game is what you want, then take a look at Dauntless. The game will be available in April via the Epic Games Store.
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
Another remake of a classic game Crash Team Racing brings with it updated graphics just like we saw with the Crash Bandicoot Trilogy remake. The original Crash Team Racing hit the PS1 in 2019 and the new game is slated for a June 2019 release for the PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds new map
A new map for PUBG has finally been announced. Called Vikendi the map will release for the PC Test servers today. A full release is expected on December 16 and the map will come to consoles in January.
