The film Sabarmati Report, starring Vikrant Massey, was released in theaters on November 15 and received enthusiastic reviews. The film is based on the tragic Godhra Train incidents, which occurred in 2002. PM Narendra Modi also praised the film and watched it in parliament with his colleagues. The film was also made tax-free in many areas of the country. However, those who missed the film in theaters will now be able to watch it on OTT.
The movie is scheduled to debut on Zee5 on January 10. Therefore, starting next month, you can watch it on the streaming service. If you do not have the Zee5 subscription, you can get it for Rs 149.
The plot revolves around the journalist’s investigation into the true cause of the Sabarmati Express fire and the subsequent cover-up by some media outlets during the Gujarat riots. The film also discusses the rivalry between English and Hindi journalists, the corporatisation and politicisation of the media, and the opposition’s efforts to use the tragedy to depose the (then) current chief minister.
