Apple has filed two new patents at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office which reveals likely features for future Airpods. One of the patents was filed by Apple in September 2021 while the other one seems recently filed. Based on these patents, we expect upcoming Apple Airpods to feature a built-in display on the case with GUI (Graphical User Interface). Along with that it also reveals a new technology which will adjust the audio output according to your environment.
Here are the two upcoming features you might see in Apple Airpods:
Coming generations of Apple Airpods could feature a capacitive touchscreen display with tactile feedback. It could interacted with for changing audio playback, adjusting volume, activating Siri, controlling ANC and Transparency mode.
According to the patents, the case might have additional processors and memory modules which will enable it to process specific instructions which are expected from smartphones, computers, and other connected devices. There could be even interactive access to various iPhone apps including Phone, Mail, Messages, Camera, Calendar, Weather, Maps, and more.
Apple will reportedly also feature a new technology in the Airpods which is Virtual Environment Stimulation Technology, meaning the audio output or the equaliser will be automatically adjusted according to your environment, whether you are in traffic, study space or in a theatre. This feature could improve the quality of Spatial Audio.
