Honor recently announced its Honor Play and the Honor 9i (2018) smartphones in China. However, while the phones were the highlight of the event, Honor also unveiled new headphones. Called Honor Clear, The headphones support Hi-Res Audio playback, and come with real-time heart rate detection. The headphones are equipped with a MicroElectrical-Mechanical System (MEMS) microphone and feature buttons for controlling volume and audio playback. The in-ear headphones come in White and Black colour variants, The White colour model will go on sale in China with a price of CNY 129 (Rs 1,350 approx), while the Black variant will go on sale at a later date.
As mentioned above, the highlight of the Honor Clear headphones is heart rate detection. The device works with the Huawei Health app for measuring heart rate and is said to be compatible with other Android smartphones. The right earbud of the device is equipped with an optical heart rate sensor and Honor says that its using heart rate variability (HRV) algorithm that can detect heart rate with an accuracy of up to 95 percent, using the data collected by the optical sensor. The company has collaborated with the Institute of Psychology, Chinese Academy of Sciences to develop the heart rate index. Using it, the device is said to access the users’ psychological stress level and output the corresponding heart rate index.
As aforementioned, Honor launched the Clear headphones alongside the Honor Play and the Honor 9i (2018) smartphones. The two smartphones are equipped with the company’s newly-unveiled GPU Turbo technology, which the company claims can deliver a smooth and faster mobile experience by increasing the graphics processing efficiency.
