An audio category that often goes unnoticed but is actually immensely popular is the children’s wireless headphones category. Companies such as Belkin, iClever, and EarFun are already making big bucks on e-commerce platforms with their kids' headphones and now, popular audio and wearable brand boAt has joined the race! boAt has launched the boAt Rockid Rush Kids Wireless Bluetooth Headphones in India at an introductory price of ₹1,499.
While headphones for children are quite popular – be it for remote learning, use during long journeys, or general content consumption – it is necessary to ensure that the headphones are safe for children and do not harm their hearing. To that end, the boAt Rockid Rush features specially-tuned drivers that ensure safe audio levels with an inbuilt Sound Limit set at 85 dB. Harvard Health claims that sound levels above 85 dB can cause hearing damage, so boAt has ensured to keep the levels below that.
Furthermore, the boAt Rockid Rush also features soft earcups that should be comfortable enough to wear for long periods. The headphones are not too heavy as well at only 360 g. They have large 30 mm drivers tuned to boAt’s Signature Sound; so expect bass-forward music reproduction out of these headphones. boAt also claims 10 hours of playback time, which is on the lower end for wireless headphones, but should suffice for domestic flights.
Since these headphones are targeted towards children, boAt has added some fun customisability elements as well. Kids can choose from a variety of customisable stickers, however, the company hasn’t mentioned how the children can go about customising them so far.
Other features include Type C charging, onboard playback controls, dual connectivity via Bluetooth v5.3, microphone support, and Voice Assistant support.
The boAt Rockid Rush headphones are available in two quirky colourways that look very kid-friendly – Aqua and Coral. The headphones have been launched at an introductory price of ₹1,499. They will be available to purchase on boat’s website, Amazon, Flipkart, and some offline stores. The headphones will be available to purchase soon and you can go to boAt’s website and click the ‘Notify Me’ button to get an alert when the sale goes live.
