YouTube’s mobile apps to add offline viewing soon
YouTube has launched a feature that enables offline viewing. The feature will be launched in November
YouTube has announced a new feature for its mobile apps which allows users to watch videos, even when they are offline. The new update will be available in November.
“This upcoming feature will allow people to add videos to their device to watch for a short period when an Internet connection is unavailable. So your fans’ ability to enjoy your videos no longer has to be interrupted by something as commonplace as a morning commute. The feature lets users store videos on their device, which they can watch for a while when they are offline.
This is quite remarkable as downloading videos is currently against YouTube’s policies, however there are a lot of third-party apps and extensions that people can use.
In June 2012, YouTube began working on offline viewing, with an update to its Android app. However, YouTube distinguishes between that feature and total download of videos by making it mandatory for users to watch at-least the first second of the video while they are online.
