Don’t we sometimes wish that we could sing as melodiously as our favourite musicians? But God hasn’t blessed us all with a magical voice. Well, what if I told you that you could actually mimic how your favourite artists sing? And no you don’t have to do months of training for it. All you need for it? You just have to be a YouTube user.
Yes, I am not kidding, you heard that right. Soon, creators on YouTube might be able to upload songs that will seem that they have been recorded by famous artists. Both Billboard and Bloomberg have reported that YouTube might be in the process of developing an AI tool for this. It will mimic famous artists.

According to reports, YouTube was earlier planning on releasing this feature back in September during its Made on YouTube event. But things didn’t go according to plan and it’s still in the development phase.
Now since this tool will mimic artists, the first hurdle that YouTube has to solve is the fact that will monetisation work for this. How will the artists get paid? Will they get paid for the input music that YouTube gives the AI model, or rather for the output? YouTube will even have to compensate songwriters for the music it uses to train the AI.

Plus there are record companies also that have a key role. Copyright is going to be a big issue here. So, there’s a lot to figure out, according to Billboard. Further, whenever YouTube has fully developed the AI, it will have to take it for a Beta run to cross out all concerns.
The Bloomberg report also points out that YouTube might have to go through legal issues in the future to go ahead with the plan as recording labels have concerns about bringing AI into the picture.
