In the world of YouTube, creators are constantly finding new ways to engage with their audience. YouTube has announced a new feature allowing creators to share exclusive Shorts with their paying subscribers. Let’s delve into how this new feature works and what it means for both creators and their supporters.
The new feature is called “Members-only Shorts” which YouTube describes as an easy way for creators to provide regular, lightweight content to their members.

Alternatively, you can set an existing Short as members-only. Additionally, creators can schedule Shorts to transition from members-only to public, providing their subscribers special early access before the official release. This option lets creators take advantage of their already-planned content and can be especially beneficial for their members if their Short features a special announcement, product-drop or limited-time deal.
YouTube suggested creators to use the Members-only Shorts feature for Q&As, behind-the-scenes looks, or clips of upcoming content.
In my opinion, the introduction of Members-only Shorts on YouTube offers several benefits for both creators and their paying subscribers. Members-only Shorts offer creators a platform to engage more closely with their paying audience. On the other hand, paying subscribers will gain access to exclusive Shorts, providing them with additional value for their support.
Also, the availability of exclusive Shorts may serve as an incentive for viewers to subscribe to a creator’s channel. Knowing that they’ll have access to unique content not available to non-subscribers can motivate viewers to become paying supporters.
So, in short, Members-only Shorts offer a win-win scenario for creators and their paying subscribers.
