Microsoft is rolling out the much-awaited Windows 11 22H2 update through the Release Preview Channel. This version 22H2 marks the celebration of the first Windows 11 anniversary. It is codenamed Sun Valley or SV2. Here we will see how you can get the Windows 11 version 22H2 on your laptop. But before we get to that, let’s break down the most notable Windows 11 22H2 features so that you can know whether you want to do the update or not.
1. Folders in Start Menu: Windows 11 Start Menu lets you create folders which would help in better organization of Start Menu contents.
2. Drag-and-drop functionality on Taskbar: You can move files between Taskbar apps with ease.

According to Windows Central, the other confirmed Windows 11 22H2 features are Focus Assist integration with Notification Center, New "spotlight" wallpaper feature, New Voice Access accessibility feature, New Live Captions accessibility feature, New snap layouts bar when moving app windows, New Task Manager app, Better OneDrive integration with File Explorer, Numerous UI improvements and consistency updates.
The Windows Business users are eligible for this Insider Preview of Windows 11 22H2, but it will be dispatched through Microsoft Intune or through Group Policy. Contact IT person in your company to set this up.
As per Microsoft, a device is a commercial device “if it is not running the Windows 11 Home edition AND is being managed by an IT administrator (whether via Microsoft Endpoint Manager or other management solution) or has a volume license key or commercial ID or is joined to a domain."
This releases more risky builds than Dev Channel and Beta Channel. So, ensure to create a backup of your data and do it at your own risk.
This is especially important if you are a regular Windows 11 user and just want to try out the new features. You will have to manually download and install the build (via Settings > Windows Update > Windows Insider Program) though.
Last but not least, Microsoft also reveals that Windows 11 22H2 Build 22621 users will continue to automatically get new monthly servicing updates through the Windows Update page.
