According to a known WhatsApp tipster publication, WABetaInfo, the messaging platform is rolling out a feature to set view once mode to voice notes to some beta testers on Android and iOS.

WhatsApp is expected to add a new view once icon within the chat bar while recording a voice note with a lock.

When you tap this icon, the voice note will likely be sent in view once mode, so the recipient cannot export, forward, save or record it.
Enabling the “view once” mode when sending a voice note is expected to ensure that neither the sender nor the recipient can listen to it once it has been dismissed, enhancing privacy and security for sensitive and confidential information by preventing unauthorised access or later playback.
