Introducing a feature that enables users to filter their chats, displaying only personal conversations and group chats, will likely enhance organisation. The separation of these chat types is expected to allow users to quickly locate specific conversations.

“At the moment, WhatsApp plans to introduce these tabs: Chats, Status, Channels, Comunities, Archive, and Starred Messages,” the report said.

The new sidebar and the group chat filter feature are currently under development and they are expected to be released in a future update of WhatsApp Web.

Recently, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform announced that Indian users can now easily complete a purchase directly in the chat. Users can now add items to their cart and send a payment using the method of their choice from all supported UPI apps, debit and credit cards, and more. The company also announced Meta Verified Businesses on WhatsApp which will make it possible for businesses to receive verification from Meta. This will help users to know that they are chatting with the right business. Meta Verified will offer additional premium features to businesses including the ability to create a custom WhatsApp page that is easily discoverable via a web search, and multi-device support so multiple employees can respond to customers.
