As we are all about updates and new features, WhatsApp could bring a new one soon as it is working on a new interface. From the looks of it, the new update could give everyone’s favourite messaging app a new and more “minimalist” look. Once the new update is rolled out, you will be able to experience these new features for yourself.

We heard that WhatsApp had been working on a new interface for quite some time now. First up, once it is live, you’ll have to say goodbye to the green background as WhatsApp has now introduced a white one. So that’s one thing. In the new beta version, we even spotted new icons and colours.

WABetaInfo shared that new updates were spotted on the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.20.10 update. So, if all goes well WhatsApp might roll it out. Let’s quickly take a look and find out what we can expect from WhatsApp in the near future.

Firstly, as I mentioned earlier, WhatsApp is playing around with colours. On the new interface, we might get a newer shade of green and move away from the iconic WhatsApp green. On the beta version, we can spot this colour change both in dark and light modes. Speaking of the dark mode, there’s a different chat bubble colour and floating action for it.

Even the chat bubbles seem to be more rounder than the current ones. Publisher WaBetaInfo also shared that the classic green banner that we find on WhatsApp for Android is gone. For reference, it could look more like the WhatsApp interface on iOS and will match the light or dark theme, whatever is activated. With this WhatsApp will look less cluttered, cleaner, and indeed minimalistic.

As is the habit of Meta to make all its platforms identical, WhatsApp is also testing out filters that will help users segregate their chats, something like what you get on Instagram’s public account. Users will be able to separate their chats and categorise them into unread chats, chats from contacts, and group chats.

The new WhatsApp interface is still under work, both for iOS as well as Android. Now let’s see when it is introduced
