In the bustling world of messaging apps, Meta-owned WhatsApp has emerged as a go-to platform for connecting with friends, family, and colleagues. With a lot of messages exchanged every day, finding the right conversation can sometimes feel like searching for a needle in a haystack.
To solve this problem, WhatsApp recently launched a handy feature called Chat Filters. Chat Filters on WhatsApp allow you to quickly find your chats using three pre-set filters: All, Unread, and Groups.
Now, a report has revealed that WhatsApp is testing a new ‘Favorite’ chat filter.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out a Favorite filter for the chats tab to some beta testers on Android.

With this new filter, users can quickly locate their favourite conversations. These chats include both individual conversations and group chats. Users can add favourites within this tab and manage them through a dedicated section labelled “Favorites” within the app settings.
Moreover, users can directly add favourites from the chat info screen, streamlining the selection of crucial conversations without the need to navigate through their contacts list, according to the report.
Introducing the option to add favourites to the chats tab could boost user productivity by facilitating easy access to frequently used chats and groups. This feature notably cuts down on the time spent hunting for crucial conversations, particularly for users with numerous active chats.
This feature is expected to enhance user app organisation, empowering individuals to keep their most essential chats conveniently accessible and neatly structured, thereby elevating their messaging journey as a whole.
It’s important to note that while this feature is being tested among beta users on Android, it has not yet been officially rolled out to all users. This indicates that WhatsApp is still in the process of refining and evaluating the feature before making it widely available.
