According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out a video note mode feature for the camera to some beta testers on Android and iOS. As per the report, beta users can now experiment with this new camera mode for sharing video notes in their chats.

This mode allows users to seamlessly record video notes directly within the camera interface. It eliminates the need to tap and hold the camera icon in the chat bar, providing a unified method for capturing and sharing video messages.

This feature is expected to address user confusion about recording video notes. Previously, WhatsApp modified the way users could start and send video notes, allowing them to switch from voice note mode, which caused confusion when WhatsApp switched to using the camera icon instead of the microphone button for recording video messages, as per the report.

By introducing this new mode, WhatsApp aims to simplify the process, making it more intuitive and increasing the visibility of the video note feature, thereby encouraging more users to utilise it.

In related news, it was recently reported that WhatsApp is working on an optional feature to allow users to generate images of themselves using Meta AI. This feature is expected to enable users to generate AI images from a single set of photos. Meta AI will then likely analyse those setup photos to ensure the generated images accurately reflect the user’s appearance.
