WhatsApp is now rolling out a new update that finally enables the long-awaited Stickers feature. First spotted by WABetaInfo, the new update is being seeded with the 2.18.329 version on Android and with the version 2.18.100 on iOS. We have the update but it can take a minute before showing up. The new option to access stickers is beside the Gif and Emoji tab and one will also have the option to go to the Stickers store to download and add more sticker packs to their app. One can also ‘Star’ their favourite stickers and sending more than one sticker will group them together, same as images. Users can also delete or forward a sticker.
All the new sticker packs are free and currently, the stickers one can download are; Unchi & Rollie by nu1t, Shiba Inu by Aiko Kuninoi, Cuppy by Minseung Song, Salty by Alisa Kryzhanovska, Komo by Sanat Rath, Bibimbap Friends by Pete Ellison, The Maladroits by Cole Ott, Koko by Hanasake Picture Inc., Banana by Jayde Fish, Biscuit by Ghostbot, Fearless and Fabulous by Ann Shen, and Hatch by Hatch. You can check out some of the stickers from the screenshots below:
As you can see in the last screenshot on the right, one that has not updated their app will be shown a message that prompts them to update in order to see the new Stickers. Alongside the new feature, WhatsApp is reportedly working on a new security feature for its iOS app so that one can use both Touch ID and Face ID to lock and unlock the messaging app on. An earlier report suggests that the feature is currently in an early alpha stage of testing and needs many improvements before being made available to everyone. As per the report, some iOS users can see the new feature with the latest version of WhatsApp on their iPhones but it won’t be enabled since the feature is under development.
