According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is rolling out an AI Studio feature with additional chatbots to some beta testers on Android.

“Although Meta is still working on bringing Meta AI to more countries, it appears that WhatsApp is now focusing on further refining the experience with chatbots, with the aim to enhance the functionality and capabilities of AI interactions. Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.15.10 update, which is available on the Google Play Store, we discovered that WhatsApp is rolling out an AI Studio feature with additional chatbots!” the report said.

Beta testers can now explore a range of personalised chatbots tailored to specific needs. As you can see in the screenshot above, beta users have the opportunity to interact with a variety of useful and entertaining AIs developed by Meta and other creators. This means that WhatsApp is considering enabling external developers to create their own AI chatbots, potentially expanding the selection even further.

It’s important to note that all personal messages in chats and groups remain end-to-end encrypted and are never shared with Meta. Any AI messages shared with chatbots are used by Meta solely to enhance AI quality across the platform, as per the report.

The AI Studio feature aims to elevate user experience by offering tailored and contextually relevant assistance while streamlining tasks. Users can engage with preferred chatbots to address FAQs, receive personalised recommendations, and more.
