Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatApp has reportedly started testing a feature to quickly send original quality photos and videos, aiming to make it easier for users to share media with original quality. This new feature is currently being tested on Android, as per the report.

For this feature, the company has added a new entry point within the documents picker, according to the report. Photos and videos selected from this new shortcut will be shared as documents to maintain their quality and HEIC metadata.

It's important to note that sharing photos and videos as documents in order to maintain media quality was already possible in previous updates, but the new entry point makes this process simpler by providing the media picker.

Last month, Meta CEO and Founder Mark Zuckerberg announced a new feature that allows WhatsApp users to create groups without having a name, making the group naming optional. However, it is limited to groups that have up to six people added. When users try to make a group with six people, they don't need to add a name, but in the case of more people, naming the group is mandatory.

Without a name, a WhatsApp group will appear different to everyone. For example, if you are added to a group with people who do not have your contact saved, your phone number will appear within the group name. The feature was launched in addition to the option of starting a group without having a profile photo.
