WhatsApp has been working on a variety of new features to enhance the user experience. While plenty of them are in the pipeline, the Meta-owned instant messaging platform has now introduced a new feature that will allow users to scan documents within the application. The feature is available for iOS with the latest update.
According to WaBetaInfo, the new feature will eliminate the need to switch to a third-party application to scan the documents. The feature is rolling out gradually. If you have not got the feature, you may get it in the coming weeks with the latest update. The feature is helpful for those who want to share files quickly while on the go or multitasking. As per the report, the feature is optimised for better quality and readability.
To access the new feature, WhatsApp users must first open the chat and then navigate to the sharing menu. Following that, users must select the Documents option. Following that, users will see a camera option. When the user taps on the camera, it opens and offers the option to scan. The users can then scan the documents and make changes. They will be able to share the document once everything is completed. It is worth noting that users will be able to crop and adjust the contrast and brightness of their documents.
It is worth noting that the feature is currently available for iOS users only and the Android users may have to wait for a few more weeks.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has also introduced a feature that allows users to apply AR effects, backgrounds, and filters during video calls. The feature is accessible via the wand icon in the camera and includes options like Goof Face effects, Touch Up mode, Low Light mode, and other customisable backgrounds.
