WhatsApp has started testing an enhanced control for instant video messages feature.

With the new toggle, users will be able to disable the instant video messages feature if they want.

This new control feature is currently available to some beta testers on Android and iOS.

Meta-owned instant messaging platform WhatApp has reportedly started testing an enhanced control for the video message feature–that allows users to instantly record and share a video message in chats. With this control, users will likely be able to disable the video message feature. The new toggle is currently being tested on both Android and iOS, as per the report.

According to a report by a known Whatsapp tipster publication, WABetaInfo, the messaging platform could gain a new toggle for the video message feature that is expected to allow users to disable the feature if they want to.

The new toggle is expected to benefit users who prefer to use voice notes over instant video messages. While users would have the option to completely disable the video message feature, they will still likely receive video messages.

The toggle to manage the video message feature is currently available to some beta testers that install the latest update of WhatsApp beta for Android and WhatsApp beta for iOS, and it is expected to roll out to more users over the coming days, according to the report.

Last month, Meta CEO and Founder Mark Zuckerberg announced a new feature that allows users to create groups without having a name, making the group naming optional. However, it is limited to groups that have up to six people added. When users try to make a group with six people, they don't need to add a name, but in the case of more people, naming the group is mandatory.

Without a name, a WhatsApp group will appear different to everyone. For example, if you are added to a group with people who do not have your contact saved, your phone number will appear within the group name. The feature was launched in addition to the option of starting a group without having a profile photo.
