WhatsApp may soon introduce QR Code feature for easy access to Channels
WhatsApp introduces QR code feature for easy channel sharing in latest Android beta.
Users can generate and share QR codes to quickly invite others to follow channels.
QR codes offer a seamless way to share channels both digitally and in physical spaces.
WhatsApp is reportedly rolling out a new feature for channels that will allow admins to share them more easily. According to WaBetaInfo, Meta’s instant messaging platform is launching a new QR code feature that will make it easier for users to scan and follow channels.
The feature is already available for Android beta version 2.24.25.7. Select testers now have access to the new option to generate and share QR codes for their channels. Those who want to try the feature can download the most recent version from the Google Play Store.
To access the QR code for their channel, users simply need to open the channel, tap the sharing options in the top bar, and select the QR code option. Once generated, the QR code can be displayed on the user’s screen, allowing others to scan and follow the channel instantly.

The new features appear to organise the process of channel sharing, eliminating the need to copy and paste links and share them with users. Instead, channel administrators (public) will soon have the ability to share a QR code, making it ideal for face-to-face interactions, events, or even print marketing, according to the report.
The users can simply scan the QR codes and get redirected to the channel, where they can check out the latest content and follow the with a tap.
Not only will the new feature provide digital benefits, but it will also allow admins to increase engagement by printing the codes on business cards, flyers, posters, or any other packaging or marketing materials, resulting in both offline and online traction.
The feature is expected to be available to more testers in the coming days. There is currently no official word on whether or not this feature will be made available to the public. However, we expect the feature to debut in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp has been consistent in adding new features to enhance the user experience. Previously, the tech giant has introduced voice message transcripts and themed icons for contacts and group chats.
