WhatsApp is reportedly developing a new feature that will enable users to share custom messages while forwarding text, images, videos, documents, GIFs, or links. According to WaBetaInfo, the Meta-owned platform is releasing the new feature with the latest 2.24.25.3 beta update.
The feature is currently available to select beta testers and is expected to be released to the general public in the coming weeks with a new update. The new feature will build on the previous enhancement, which allows users to include messages when forwarding a media file even if no caption is provided.
As per the report, WhatsApp users will easily be able to append a personal message or explanation to any forwarded content, including simple text or documents. The new feature will also allow the users to add necessary context or clarification behind the forwarded content. For example, if a user forwards a news article link, they can include thoughts, summaries, or other text, removing the need for a follow-up message. Similarly, when forwarding a text message, users can add additional information or instructions for recipients to ensure clear communication.

Until now, WhatsApp users could add a message when they shared images and videos. However, with this new feature, the tech behemoth will now allow custom messages with all types of forwarded content, providing more context, preventing misunderstandings, and improving the clarity of forwarded messages.
After the update, the users, when they forward content will see an option to add a custom message before sending it. This feature can be especially helpful when users want to explain why they’re forwarding something
If you want to test the feature before it goes public, you can get the WhatsApp Beta for Android (version 2.24.25.3) from the Google Play Store. However, web and iOS users may have to wait a few more weeks.
It should be noted that there is no exact rollout timeline for the feature, but it is expected to be available shortly.
