WhatsApp has been working on a variety of features and some of them are in the pipeline. In the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.24.26.6 update, the tech giant has introduced a new feature that will allow users to quickly reply to voice messages.
The quick reply feature is much similar to the recently added reply button for video messages. According to a WaBetaInfo report, when the user listens to the voice message, the button will appear next to the message. Tapping on this button will allow users to immediately record and send a voice reply without the need to navigate away or manually tap the “reply” option. The reply will be directly linked to the original voice note.
Previously, the users needed to swipe or tap on the voice message, then manually select the reply option and record a response. The new button will eliminate these extra steps making it easier to reply on the specific voice notes.
“Users may now notice a new button next to voice notes, allowing them to instantly record and send a voice reply. It is important to mention that this button appears only when the user starts listening to the voice message,” the report added.
The quick reply feature for the voice messages is available for select beta testers and will eventually rollout for public users in the coming weeks. Users can install the latest WhatsApp beta update for Android from the Google Play Store to get access to this feature and explore the capabilities.
Meanwhile, WhatsApp is introducing a similar feature for group users, which will place the button directly above the message send button. The upcoming update will allow all group members to use the feature. The previous beta update also mentioned a gesture-based method for initiating voice chats. When the user scrolls up, the voice chat will start automatically once the feature is completed.
