Users will see a new entry point called “Phone number” in the “New chat” screen, if the feature is available to their WhatsApp account.

“It’s important to note that you can keep searching for phone numbers by entering them in the search bar within the ‘New chat’ screen, and this was already implemented in a previous update,” the report said.

This feature to quickly start conversations with unknown contacts is expected to help users as it will eliminate the need to clutter their address books with unverified or temporary phone numbers.

Recently, it was reported that WhatsApp had started working on a new search message by date feature for the web client. This feature is expected to allow users to search for messages shared on a specific date. For this new feature, WhatsApp is expected to add a calendar button. This calendar button might allow users to open a date picker panel, making it easier for them to search for a message shared on a specific date. This date-based search feature will likely save users time by allowing them to quickly locate messages from a specific date without the need to scroll through extensive chat histories. It might also eliminate frustration caused due to scrolling through long chat histories.
