WhatsApp is reportedly working on a cool new feature that will let you take personalisation to the next level by allowing you to choose themes for chats. Imagine being able to set a unique look and feel for each of your conversations—whether it’s with a close friend or a work colleague. This upcoming feature, which is expected to be released in a future update, will likely be added to the chat info screen, where you can easily change the message and background colours to suit your style.
What’s great about the potential chat theme feature is that it’s not just a one-size-fits-all approach. You can assign one theme to a particular chat and another to a different conversation, WABetaInfo reported. So, each chat can have its own vibe, independent of the general settings you’ve applied to the rest of the app. The themes you choose will override the default settings, giving each conversation its own unique atmosphere.

In addition to these customisation options, WhatsApp is also expected to offer a preset of themes, so you can preview how a message colour looks when applied to a chat before finalising your choice. According to the report, you will likely have 10 default themes to choose from, and selecting the most suitable one for each chat is as simple as scrolling through the themes screen horizontally.
One thing to note is that the theme selection for each chat is expected to remain private. So, only you will see the design you’ve picked, which keeps your personal style and preferences just that—personal.

This new feature is expected to make it easier to manage and distinguish between different conversations. By matching themes with the context or tone of each chat, you’ll not only enhance your messaging experience but also create a quick and easy way to identify important or frequent contacts.
