META has been rolling out new features for all its applications, and WhatsApp has been receiving some amazing new features recently. They have been trying to bring some massive changes which will improve the experience of its users.
So, recently it has rolled out features like 'Keep in Chat', use the same WhatsApp account on up to 5 phones, Telegram-like broadcast channels, sticker maker for iOS phones, animated emojis, which will be implemented pretty soon. Now, WhatsApp has announced the Chat Lock feature, which as of now will only be available for certain beta testers.
This WhatsApp chat-lock feature will slowly roll out to all users. But, once it's out there this is going to be one useful feature in WhatsApp. Users need to completely lock WhatsApp to keep certain personal chats private, but after the introduction of this feature users don't have to lock the entire app, instead can just kick the chat that they want to.
Also, the photos and videos of the chat won't get downloaded until and unless the user does it to protect the user's privacy.
Steps to use the WhatsApp Chat-Lock feature
Step1: Open WhatsApp and go to the chat you would like to lock. Then go to the profile section of this chat.
Step2: Scroll to the bottom of the profile page. There you will see the option saying Chat Lock. Tap on it.
Step 3: After that a pop-up will appear. There, select the option of "Lock this chat with fingerprint." The chat has been locked and can now only open using your fingerprint.
How can you try WhatsApp chat-lock feature out?
If you are intrigued about this feature and would like to try it out at the earliest then, there is a way. You can go to the Play Store and apply for WhatsApp's beta program. Mostly it's all packed and there are very rare chances of getting through, but it's worth a try.
After landing on the Play Store page you have to scroll down and check for the availability, if it says full then you have to wait for the feature to reach all WhatsApp users.
